New York State is considering regulating beer bars.
The idea is a bit of a mess, but it could provide some much-needed clarity to what you’re drinking at bars in the Big Apple.
In an interview with The Verge, state Representative Jim Cooper said he’d like to see beer bars regulated to make sure they’re serving “responsible, legal and balanced” beer.
“You’ve got a lot of breweries that have their own rules,” he said.
“And then, you’ve got these big corporations that just do everything.
If you just go to a bar that’s selling beer, you’re not going to find a brewery with any rules.”
Cooper, who represents the New York’s 7th Congressional District, said he wanted to make it easier to find bars that don’t fall into one of those “big corporations.”
